Hello everyone,

My name is Mac and I am a proud Albertan. At the early age of 18, I had the opportunity to enter the world of welding, a trade which I have now spent just under a decade working in. I’ve done everything from facility tie ins, fabbing, pipe-lining, structural, right down to pile splices and caps.
One day, I thought about all the gear we wear and how it hasn’t always improved to accommodate the changing environment we work in. We are in an evolving industry which usually favours a traditional approach to work wear (think of the countless plaid jackets and canvas pants you probably own). Through the years of working, I noticed that I wreck all my work clothes in the exact same spots. It seems no matter what, there isn’t anything that adds extra protection where we need it most.

My oil patch experience inspired me to create a product that not only focuses on safety, first and foremost, but meets and exceeds our expectations and offers a unique and refreshed look to traditional work wear. I am committed to providing a product that can withstand the harsh environmental and situational conditions faced by tradesmen. Up in Smoke Welding Apparel has been tested, vetted, and worn by tradesmen across North America. My line will provide apparel, welding jackets, welding hoodies and work pants to keep tradesmen stylish, and most importantly, safe in the work environment.

Thank you for your commitment to me, my vision and our industry.
